In Japan there is a tradition called Hatsumode – the first shrine visit of the year.
Here is Tokyo’s Meiji Shrine bustling with Hatsumode veterans and newbies alike, all wishing for good fortune throughout the next year.Happy New Year’s Everybody! I hope it’s already gotten to a good start.
