This week’s Photo Challenge is – Scale
Last weekend, I was lucky enough to have traveled to Sapporo, Japan for their world famous Yuki Matsuri (Snow Festival). One of the events for this festival is the snow sculpture galleries throughout Odori Park. While many people compete and present individual works, there is always ENORMOUS snow sculptures put forth by a company or interest group, as well. This year…we had Star Wars.
While walking along the main park you will eventually be greeted by this casual, monolithic Stormtrooer peering down at you. Before long you’ll enter a veranda to see one of the most impressive sculptures of the 2015 Yuki Matsuri.
Here is the Star Wars exhibit. Not only is it a few stories tall, it also represents the grand scale of Star Wars fandom throughout the world. Funded by LucasFilms and Disney to advertise the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, later this year, it is truly not something to miss.
Oh and did I mention there’s a light show.
OOOooo… Now if only I can find the time and money to go there now…
