Japanese Regional Cuisine: Wakayama’s Brown Sugar Ice Cream


I don’t know about you but when I was a kid, I loved brown sugar. Brown sugar covered yams at Thanksgiving are my jam!

If you are like me, then swinging by Nachi Falls in Japan’s Wakayama Prefecture will be less a visit and more like experiencing nirvana. Their regional specialty is brown sugar ice cream and IT. IS. UNREAL.

For only ¥300 you can nab a cone yourself…or choose one of the other more boring flavors like plum and vanilla.

Oh, and did I mention this also happens to be the location of the largest waterfall in Japan? Yeah, definitely worth the visit.
