Well, I had never heard of it until 3 months before the application deadline and I was lucky enough to be chosen after months of waiting. Here I’ll tell you what its like to be placed in and teach at a small rural Japanese town with no English speakers for about 200 km in any direction and with no Japanese language skills of your own.
